
Previously, Samsung forwarded one of its clamshell phone model to FCC for a thorough testing. The result? The institution’s approval was announced just recently.
The clamshell that I am talking about is the Samsung R470, a dual-band CDMS mobile phone that has a built-in Bluetooth. The gadget also has a special key for its camera to enable memory-capture in a snap. And in terms of storage and data transfer, the R470 is supported by a USB port and a microSD slot, while the multimedia-at-heart could enjoy its headphone jack, external control pad, and external speakers.

After the success of Sony Ericsson’s K770, another camera phone labeled as the Sony Ericsson Kate C510 rolls out to play in the mobile phone industry.
Built with a 2.2 inches screen, this gadget-fanatics teaser is loaded with a 3.2 megapixel camera alongside with image enhancements features such as the Photo Flash Face detection, Smile Shutter, and BestPic. Sony Ericsson Kate is also fabricated with a QVGA video as well as an active lens cover.

Sprint was previously comparing their prices with AT&T and Verizon as more advantageous with an approximately $240 possible savings per annum. This year, Sprint is inviting potential subscribers to a $480 total savings per year.
One website compared Sprint’s prices versus AT&T and Verizon’s rate. True to its words, Sprint’s Simply Everything plan will enable its subscribers to save for $20/month for text and picture messaging, $30/month for smartphone data, $10/month for GPS navigation, and $10/month for mobile TV for a total of $70 per month or $840 per year over the same plans on AT&T and Verizon. What’s more –the voice/call portion was not even included in the calculation yet!

AT&T is being reported to have a possible migration from 850Mhz band to 1900 Mhz band. As a result, subscribers in the Midwest and the East and West Coasts might be highly affected with the 3G coverage and stability.
However, according to AT&T, the company’s main objective for this major change is to enhance its 3G network. In fact, Mark Siegel, AT&T’s executive director of analyst relations, elaborated that the rumors that AT&T was forcing customers to upgrade to 3G handsets and that AT&T representatives were advising customers to move away from GSM equipment to 3G equipment were definitely not true.

Nokia’s recent exhibits are boasting of its latest mobile phone model, the Nokia N97. So, what is it about anyway?
To start with, the N97 is a slider phone that reveals a full qwerty keyboard inside. It is armed with a quad-band support and can definitely work on GSM 850/900/1800/1900 bands as well as on WCDMA 900 / 1900 /2100 bands. Additional features of the N97 includes a 3.5 inch screen with 640 x 360 pixels and 16 million colour TFT, a built-in Bluetooth, and a 5 megapixel camera with flash and autofocus.
Having laid these facts down, I’m pretty sure this new gadget wouldn’t be considered mediocre.
